Mentor Update
My current status of my Senior Capstone Project is I have decided to change the topic from zoology to fashion design because the San Francisco Zoo was unable to meet my requirements of having a mentor help me with this topic. At first I was sort of bummed that I could not go through with this idea, but after I found a mentor for my new fashion design topic, I was back to being just excited. I have yet to meet with her to discuss what kind of schedule we will create in order for me to complete all of the hours for the project. I am very excited to start this topic because I especially like the methods she has used to get as far as she has in her business. I will be meeting with her within the next week to come up with a set schedule that is convenient for both of us.

Fiscal Cliff Responce
The positions of the democratic and republican party are very different. Republicans have more conservative beliefs such as higher eligibilty age for medicare and no raise on income tax. Republican house speaker John Boehner first offered a "Plan B", in order to avoid the fiscal cliff, but he has now taken back the plan mostly because of lack of support from his political party. The republicans also want to reduce the deficit, as do we all, however they do not want to do so under a democratic president and senate. The main focus for Democrats is to return to the Clinton-era tax rates, and tax couples higher if they make over $250,000 a year. Obama has said that he will go over the fiscal cliff to make sure the wealthy pays more taxes.
To conduct my research, I searched fiscal cliff and searched republican and democratic positions. in exact words, i put republican and democrats in the exact words and also fiscal cliff as well. I filtered the search to as late as a month recent because more recent information tends to be more accurate. What was most helpful was the words republican and democrat because those really made the difference in the searches. These are most important phrases because their positions are very different in the fiscal cliff.
